Lake Natron – Tanzania

The center of the Milkway Galaxy arcs over a lone tree on the barren desert plains of Lake Natron in northern Tanzania. Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano (the Mountain of God) can be seen sitting in the bottom right of the image. The dark skies in this remote and stunningly beautiful corner of the African Rift Valley were some of the best I’ve ever seen.
